Week 1 of My CBD Reset: Starting the Pinnacle Hemp 1800mg Full-Spectrum CBD Tincture(Unboxing, Effects & COA Review)

Week one of actually doing the thing I’ve talked about for years: going back to CBD, supporting my endocannabinoid system, and seeing if edibles will ever work on me again.
If you missed the first post in this mini-series, you can read Blog 1 here:

Resetting My System: CBD, Cannabinoids & Whether I Can Feel Edibles Again
.
Quick recap: edibles used to work almost too well on me. Full-body effects, couch-locked, “I can’t get out of bed yet” levels of impact. I always had a high tolerance but sometimes they would hit amazingly.
Somewhere between switching from dry-herb vaping to mostly dabbing, drifting away from CBD and other minor cannabinoids, and just… life, edibles basically stopped registering. Not “I need a little more” — I mean nothing.

This winter, I decided I’m done just wondering about it. I’m actively trying to reset my system, starting with a strong CBD foundation.

Why Start With CBD in Week 1?

Before I ever became the “Missouri medical marijuana card person,” I was a CBD person. As an adult, my first real step into cannabinoid therapy was hemp-derived CBD — not dispensary flower. CBD tinctures and paste and CBG tinctures and other minor cannabinoids helped me feel more balanced, less inflamed, and a little more regulated day-to-day.

Over the last few years, I slowly drifted away from that. I relied more on dabs, less on CBD tinctures, and somewhere in that shift, my body’s relationship with edibles changed too.

So for this “reset my system” experiment, the first step is simple on purpose: go back to a consistent, full-spectrum CBD tincture and see what changes when my endocannabinoid system is supported again.

Important note: CBD is not magic and this is not medical advice. I’m not claiming cures or treatments. I’m just sharing my personal experience and how my body responds.

The Product: Pinnacle Hemp 1800mg Full-Spectrum CBD Tincture

For Week 1, my whole focus is on one product:

Pinnacle Hemp 1800mg Full-Spectrum CBD Tincture from Pinnacle Hemp.

I’m dosing ½ dropper twice daily — morning and night. The label calls it “full spectrum hemp oil,” and everything about the packaging feels like a product that’s meant to be taken seriously:

  • Heavy, gold bottle that actually feels substantial in your hand
  • Clearly labeled as full-spectrum hemp oil with readable font
  • Batch number and lot info printed clearly on the outer box
  • Expiration date just under 2 years away, not something expiring next week

How I’m Actually Taking It

My Week 1 protocol has been very simple:

  • Dose: ½ dropper in the morning, ½ dropper at night
  • Method: Held under my tongue for at least 60–90 seconds (sometimes longer — I’ve used tinctures a lot over the years and I tend to forget I’m still holding it)
  • Timing: Morning dose before I really start my day; evening dose when I’m winding down
  • Real life note: I did miss one dose. That’s life. I just got back on track at the next scheduled time instead of panic-doubling.

Taste? The first dose, I won’t lie, was not my favorite. It’s not a fun “mocktail” or candy flavored — it’s a tincture. But it wasn’t horrible, and after that first time it honestly didn’t bother me much at all. I do drink a lot of lemonade, so I’m sure that affects how it lingers. Either way, it’s absolutely tolerable.

Early Effects: What I Felt in Week 1

These are my personal observations from the first week. Your body is different; this is not a prediction of what anyone else will feel.

First Dose: Face Muscles & “Loosening”

Within about 5–10 minutes of the very first dose, I noticed something oddly specific: the muscles in my face relaxed. Not in a sedated way — more like I realized how tense I had been and felt it soften.

I didn’t feel “high.” I didn’t feel altered. It was more of a subtle “oh, I’m not clenched up right now” moment.

Calm, Clarity & Productivity

Over the week, the two biggest things I noticed were:

  • More calm and clarity. I’ve been extremely productive this week. Now, is that purely CBD? Probably not. Life, deadlines, motivation — all of that plays a role. But I do feel a steadier “throughline” as I move through the day. I have been extremely productive too!
  • Less edge around stress. It doesn’t erase problems, but the way my brain responds has felt a little less spiky.

Dabs Feel Different Too

This one surprised me. My dabs in the last week have felt more “buzzy” and less flat. The effects seem to last a bit longer, and I can actually feel the high linger instead of it just dropping off. I knew it could happen if I started CBD but I honeslty didn’t expect to feel any difference!

I’m very curious to see if that continues — and whether it has any impact once I start testing edibles again.

Pain, Sleep & Side Effects

  • Pain: My pain hasn’t been bad this week. It does fluctuate in general, so this is something I’ll need more time to really evaluate, but it’s a good sign going into the holidays.
  • Sleep: No major change yet. I’m a chronic insomniac, so I didn’t expect a miracle in Week 1. We’ll see what happens over a longer stretch.
  • Side effects: No headaches, no stomach issues, nothing weird to report so far.

Adjusting My Omega-6 Intake (Short-Term)

After a comment on blog 1 I did more research about how high omega-6 intake might interfere with how some people feel cannabis, I decided to do a short-term experiment alongside the CBD. These are some examples:

  • Swapped in more avocado oil for cooking
  • Cut out my usual snacking nuts for a week or two (they’re one of my go-to snacks, but I can pause them short-term and see if it helps)
  • Cut back on regular mayo and plan to use homemade avocado mayo for the next few weeks

I’m not eliminating all omega-6, just reducing some obvious sources while I’m tracking how my body responds. Between the CBD foundation and dietary tweaks, I’m trying to give my system the best chance to show me what’s actually going on.

Looking at the COA (Certificate of Analysis)

One of the biggest reasons I feel comfortable using (and writing about) this tincture is that it comes with a clear, batch-matched COA — a lab report showing what’s actually in the bottle.

Here’s the COA for this specific product:

When you’re looking at COAs (for this or any product), a few things I personally pay attention to:

  • Product name and strength match the label on the bottle
  • Batch or lot number matches what’s printed on your packaging
  • Cannabinoid profile — CBD content lines up with what’s advertised, and Δ9 THC stays within legal limits for hemp
  • Pass/fail sections for heavy metals, pesticides, residual solvents, and microbial testing
  • Recent date and a legitimate third-party lab (not just a logo with no info)

None of this is about perfection, but it is about transparency. If a brand can’t provide COAs or the information doesn’t line up, that’s a red flag for me. And the truth is, there are so many incredible people in the hemp industry who take that transparency seriously — farmers, formulators, educators, and lab teams who genuinely care about doing things the right way.

When a company partners with an accredited lab and keeps their testing public, that’s when hemp becomes every bit as trustworthy as regulated cannabis. Pinnacle Hemp is a great example of that. Their COA isn’t just a document; it shows real scientific oversight from ACS Laboratory — a DEA-registered, CLIA-certified, ISO/IEC 17025–accredited lab with qualified toxicologists and principal scientists signing the report.

Those credentials matter. They mean the product was tested using validated methods, strict chain-of-custody procedures, and internationally recognized laboratory standards. You can literally look at the COA and see the verified cannabinoid levels, the batch numbers, the potency results, and the scientific signatures that confirm it all.

That’s why I advocate for hemp. Because when brands commit to real testing and real transparency, hemp is not only safe — it is professionally validated, regulated through accredited science, and supported by an entire community of people who care about quality just as much as I do.

Why CBD Might Help My “Edibles Don’t Work” Problem

This whole series started because my edibles just stopped working. So why on earth would I start with CBD instead of jumping straight into stronger and stronger THC?

Very simply: CBD is about supporting the system that interacts with THC — not just overpowering it.

In plain English (not a medical lecture):

  • Your body has an endocannabinoid system (ECS) that helps regulate things like mood, sleep, pain perception, and more.
  • CBD doesn’t “hit” you the way THC does, but it can influence how your receptors respond and how your body uses its own endocannabinoids.
  • When I stopped using CBD and only leaned on dabs, I may have been asking my system to do too much of one thing and not enough of another.

By rebuilding that CBD foundation, I’m hoping to:

  • Support my ECS in a more balanced way
  • Change how my body processes cannabinoids overall
  • Create a better “baseline” before I test edibles again

There’s still a lot we don’t know about tolerance, metabolism, and individual responses. This experiment isn’t about claiming science — it’s about documenting my real-world experience in a way other Missouri patients and consumers can relate to.

Where I’m At After Week 1

  • I’m consistently taking ½ dropper twice a day.
  • I feel more relaxed and steady, especially in my face and general tension levels.
  • My dabs feel more noticeable and last longer instead of falling flat.
  • No stomach issues, no headaches, no weird side effects so far, and I didn’t expect any!
  • Sleep hasn’t changed much yet (chronic insomniac life), but I’ll keep tracking it.

Is this the magic fix for my edible tolerance? Too early to say. But as a Week 1 foundation, it feels like the right place to start.
