A big thank you to Erica and Rob from Two Chicks and a Head Shop for introducing me to this device and taking the time to walk me through it. This Yocan Pocket review is not a sponsored post — it is just my honest first impression after seeing the pocket-sized smart vaporizer in action, trying it for myself, and realizing it might finally be the portable wax device I had been looking for.
At the March B.O.N.G. event at The Treehouse Lounge — and if you are not familiar with B.O.N.G., that stands for Business Owners Networking Group — I was talking with Erica and Rob from Two Chicks and a Head Shop. Rob had brought along his favorite portable device, the Yocan Pocket. It is a pocket-sized smart vaporizer, and right away, it caught my attention.

I have had other Yocan devices and other terp pen-style devices throughout the years, but I have never been exactly satisfied with them. Most of the time, I end up frustrated. Either they do not feel strong enough, they are hard to use because they constantly clog, or they just do not give the experience I was hoping for.
I did have one Yocan device that I actually loved — the Yocan Evolve Plus — until I accidentally washed it through the washing machine. That is how I found out the hard way that it is definitely not water-friendly. Anyone still use one? I have some coils I will mail you!
So, back to this device.
The Yocan Pocket stood out to me because Rob was not just showing off a random product. He is a head shop owner, so he obviously has access to all the fun devices. And yet, this was the device he actually used and liked. I know it is not the newest device on the market, but I care that this is his personal device. There is a big difference between a product someone is trying to sell and a device someone personally reaches for because it works for them.
What I liked about seeing it in person was the size and portability. It really is pocket-sized, which makes it feel realistic for people who do not want to carry around something big, bulky, or complicated. For patients and consumers who want something simple and discreet, that is a big deal. If I am somewhere I can dab properly while out and about, I will probably just use my R.I.O. — Rig in One by Stache — but for on-the-go, this thing fits the bill.
I also liked that it was described as a smart vaporizer, because one of my biggest frustrations with devices over the years has been consistency. A device can look cool, but if it clogs constantly — or if the settings are a confusing bunch of flashing lights and I can never remember how many blinks or what color means what — I am probably not going to keep using it.
Seeing someone I respect actually use and recommend the Yocan Pocket made me want to take a closer look. And since The Treehouse Lounge in Nixa is a consumption lounge and that is where B.O.N.G. meets, I was able to get my hands on it before buying. I could feel how it fit perfectly in my hand — not too big, not too little. Smooth. Discreet. User-friendly. I watched Rob load it, asked how to use it, and took a few hits. Honestly, I might just have Erica do all my dab shopping — every time they share, it is absolutely delicious.

So what makes the Yocan Pocket different?
My old Yocan Evolve Plus had coils that were temperamental, and I was always replacing them. The Pocket uses a Cloud 3.1 chamber — essentially an open heated chamber — and it does not have that issue. It also comes with terp balls included.
I actually went back to Two Chicks and a Head Shop to buy a replacement chamber, just in case, because I am so used to needing extra parts for portable devices. Rob told me not to bother. According to him, as long as I keep it clean with a Q-tip and alcohol, the chamber should last a very long time. For on-the-go cleaning, I use a doob tube to store a few wet Q-tips so I can clean it out before things build up. That alone made me feel better about the device, because I do not want something that constantly needs replacement parts.
That kind of practical advice is exactly why I like talking to real people in the Missouri cannabis community. Whether it is a device, a lounge, a patient question, or a caregiver connection, sometimes the best information comes from people who are actually using these products and helping others figure things out in real life.
You can adjust the temperature from 400 to 580 degrees. I am currently running mine at 485, for those who want to know. I get around 15 dabs per charge on its 1400 mAh battery. It has an OLED display with real-time feedback that literally tells you: Wait. Hit. Done. No guessing. No counting blinks.
At around $90, the price is a steal! If you stop in at Two Chicks and a Head Shop, mention this blog for 10% off the Yocan Pocket! Just tell them you heard about it on Canna Answers.
With most of my other portable devices, it feels more like a mini hit. This is not a full dab rig heated up with a torch or an e-nail — but it is still enough that I feel properly medicated. I can absolutely see this being my go-to when I need to be discreet.
Is this device for you?
If you are a flower-only consumer, this device is not for you — it is wax only. But if you have been curious about dabs and are intimidated by the whole torch-and-rig setup, this is genuinely beginner-friendly. Load it, turn it on, and go. It even rests between sessions, so two clicks brings it back up to heat for your next one. Simple.
Where to get it
If you want to check out the Yocan Pocket — or a ton of other devices — stop in to Two Chicks and a Head Shop at 1503 W State Hwy J, Ozark, MO 65721, across from Lambert’s. You can also find them on Instagram at @2chicksandaheadshop.
They are the kind of place where you stop in for one thing and leave with a list of things to come back for. Rob and Erica are knowledgeable, educated, and take the time to actually help you find the right product.
They are also both advocates — I have seen them in Jefferson City, online, and in person, and they are always a voice of reason. They put in real time and real energy fighting for hemp, and they are absolutely some of my favorite people in Hemp!
Sometimes the best way to find a product worth trying is by talking to real people in the community who have already used it, tested it, and figured out what actually works. That is exactly how I found the Yocan Pocket — and I am already in love with it. Just not running it through the washing machine this time!
