A
- Allotment
- The amount of cannabis a patient is allowed to purchase within a set period under Missouri’s rules. Some patients may qualify for a higher amount
with physician support. See: High-Dose Allotment Guide. - Adult-Use (Recreational)
- Non-medical cannabis access for adults under state law. Many rules overlap with medical, but medical patients may have different protections or
options. For the medical framework, start here: Missouri Medical Cannabis Guide.
C
- Caregiver
- A person registered to assist a patient with obtaining or handling medical cannabis under Missouri’s medical program. Caregiver rules can differ
from cultivation rules. See: Caregiver & Cultivation Guide. - Certification (Physician Certification)
- Documentation from a physician (or other qualified provider, depending on the program requirements) supporting a medical cannabis application or
renewal. It’s different from the state-issued card itself. See: Missouri Medical Cannabis Cards. - COA (Certificate of Analysis)
- A lab report showing what was found in a product sample (like cannabinoid content and, depending on the test, other analytes). Not all COAs are
equal—how testing is defined and calculated matters. See: Testing Explained. - Compliance
- Following the applicable rules for purchase limits, possession, transport, and other requirements under Missouri law. For practical guidance, see:
Missouri Cannabis Rules. - Cultivation (Home Grow)
- Legal permission (when properly licensed/authorized) to grow cannabis plants at home under Missouri rules. Cultivation is not automatically included
with a patient card. See: Caregiver & Cultivation Guide.
D
- Dispensary
- A licensed retail location where eligible customers can purchase cannabis products under state rules. Some locations may have additional policies
about what they can or cannot accept for documentation or purchase limits. - Delta-9 THC
- A specific form of THC often referenced in laws and testing rules. Regulatory definitions may focus on how THC is measured or calculated. For the
Missouri testing context, see: Testing Explained.
E
- Employment Protections
- Legal protections that may apply to patients in workplace contexts. Rules can be nuanced and situation-dependent. See:
Missouri Cannabis Employment Protections. - Edibles
- Cannabis products intended to be eaten or consumed orally. Effects can be delayed and vary widely by person, dosage, and product formulation.
F
- Family Protections
- Legal protections that may apply to registered patients in family-related contexts. These topics can be sensitive and fact-specific. See:
Missouri Cannabis Family Protections. - Full-Spectrum
- A product description typically meaning it contains multiple cannabinoids and other naturally occurring compounds (not just one isolated cannabinoid).
Always verify with a COA when available.
H
- Hemp
- A legal category often defined by THC thresholds and testing rules, which may differ from how consumers think about “hemp vs cannabis.”
For how testing and definitions affect products, see: Testing Explained. - High-Dose (High Allotment)
- A higher purchase allowance that some Missouri patients may qualify for with appropriate medical support. See:
High-Dose Medical Marijuana and
High-Dose Allotment Guide.
L
- Lab Testing
- Testing performed by a laboratory to measure cannabinoid content and other regulated factors. Methods and definitions matter, especially when
determining legal categories. See: Testing Explained. - Legal Protections
- Rights and protections that may apply to registered patients in certain circumstances (family, employment, probation/parole). Start here:
Missouri Medical Cannabis Guide.
M
- Medical Cannabis Card (Patient Card)
- The state-issued registration card (or proof of registration) that shows a person is enrolled as a medical patient under Missouri’s program.
See: Missouri Medical Cannabis Cards. - Minor Patient
- A patient under 18 registered under Missouri’s medical rules with parent/guardian involvement. See:
Missouri Medical Marijuana for Minors. - Microbusiness License
- A type of Missouri cannabis business licensing category. This is a business pathway (not a patient card topic). See:
Missouri Microbusiness License.
N
- No-Index
- A setting that tells search engines not to index a page. (This is a web/SEO term, not a cannabis term.) In general, most public guides should be
indexed unless there’s a specific reason not to.
P
- Possession
- The amount of cannabis a person can legally have at a given time under applicable rules. Context (where, how stored, how transported) matters. See:
Travel and Possession Guide. - Probation & Parole
- Legal supervision contexts where cannabis rules can be more complicated and fact-specific. See:
Missouri Probation and Parole Cannabis.
R
- Renewal
- The process of extending/renewing a Missouri medical patient registration when it’s nearing expiration. See:
2026 Renewal Guide. - Rules (Missouri Cannabis Rules)
- The practical dos and don’ts for staying compliant under Missouri law (possession, transport, etc.). See:
Missouri Cannabis Rules.
S
- State Portal
- The online system used for applications and updates in Missouri’s program. This is where patient, caregiver, and other submissions may be completed,
depending on the type of application. - Services (Canna Answers)
- Support and consulting options offered by Canna Answers (education, navigation, paperwork clarity, and related help). See:
Services.
T
- Testing (Hemp vs Cannabis)
- The way THC and related compounds are measured can affect legal categories and enforcement. For Missouri context and plain-language explanation, see:
Cannabis and Hemp Testing Explained. - Travel (Transport)
- Moving cannabis from place to place can raise compliance questions. Rules can depend on whether you are in-state or crossing state lines. See:
Travel and Possession Guide.
